It would have been smart to develop the artificial intelligence with a preference for washing clothes and vacuuming. Since the AI was developed by men, the focus is not on care work. That much is clear.

Yes this. Also I don't want the dishwasher to be more engaging, I want it to have an algorithm to tell when the dishes are clean and keep at it longer if needed instead of keeping to a timer.
