This is it, a big part of what I’m talking about re the CW. Certain places in the industry are incubators of talent, and now there are not a lot of those left.
I was just thinking about how Eric Kripke (The Boys) and Sera Gamble(You) both worked on Supernatural and have gone on to make some of the biggest streaming shows.
Yup. I miss Legends of Tomorrow, so goofy, fun, and unapologetically full of queer characters and allies tromping through time and space. Also all the other shows with positive LGBTQ+ rep. Charmed reboot was so well done before it was axed. Kung Fu also so fun. Sigh. Not much there for me anymore.
Yes!
And I'd submit Legends of Tomorrow s3 ep17, s3ep18, and s4ep1 is the most gloriously insane run of 3 consecutive episodes of anything on network TV.
I cannot think of anything besides Twin Peaks that comes close. Not even Community.
You've got:
* Giant gorilla trying to kill college-age Barack Obama
* The Legends realizing that Mallus [voiced by John Noble] sounds a lot like John Noble and tracking down John Noble
* 6 Legends merging Care-Bear-style into Beebo to fight Mallus
* A murderous unicorn biting off Gary's nipple
