But what really grates my cheese is that we have twice- in ten years, told the exact same story about Wilbur’s depression.
-Wilbur has a depressive episode after something goes badly in his life.
-Mary tells him he shouldn’t be depressed because he has a good life.
-Wilbur is immediately better
We all love to hate-read Mary Worth, but what sincerely pisses me off about this comic strip and it’s current creative team is how it has a pretty subversive conservative agenda to its story telling, and the subtle message it’s conveying is pretty toxic.
The Keith the Cop storyline was boring as stale bread, but beyond being pretty blatant Copaganda, it’s conclusion was that 2 grown women who were doing absolutely fine in life needed this guy (Who hasn’t seen the Mom in 20 years and wasn’t the girls father) to intervene in their lives.
“The president isn’t a king, only Congress can pass laws.”
There. I said it for them, this time.
It’s not like a president can champion a law or bill. I’m sure there was never a period in our history where a president really pushed for laws to try and improve American lives.
