Watching the behaviour of various conservative families over the years and these people are specifically trained from birth to base their lives around excusing and minimising the awfulness of their powerful patriarch.
They are natural sell-outs who have a gut level instinct for this stuff.
It does, but when they are both financially incentivised to an alarming degree and subjected to severe intimidation tactics to never concede any such thing, it kinda takes over their entire lives to such a degree that it's hard for them to get out from under it. =(
