Don't think so. That's where the view is taken from, I bet.
They love a good fireworks show, even if they make fart jokes and poop jokes through the whole thing.
They actually don't go 7,912 times the speed of light, that's the thing.
They put so much thought into the technology and had actual asked real physicists to help out (to a certain extend).
There are even books talking about the accuracy (and inaccuracy) of the science in star trek.
Maybe I'm just old.
When I grew up star trek was considered more on the science spectrum in science fiction.
Not really hard science, but still.
That's why stuff like this bothers me in newer star trek movies and shows. Because they don't seem to care that much anymore.
Oh, I hated almost all of the new Trek shows, especially S3 of Picard (skipped 2 completely) and worse, Discovery.
But it seems silly to me to complain about fireworks in a SciFi show.
There's been lots of scientific errors in the older shows, I still love them.
But it's just TV and not worth it.
yea, you can point out many times star trek is indeed inaccurate, but its still or at least was originally, way more accurate then most other sci fi shows.
It was way closer to science then fiction and way more technical, and that is what set it apart.
