Thanks for all the responses, especially from public-defense-adjacent work like CJS, other indigent defense, legal aid, and immigration. The immigration system seems designed to make the criminal legal system look good by comparison.

You can actually do a search for "public defender" and you will find a few. There might be more ex-PDs who are also a good bunch, I find. :) It might be worth organizing a Feed, too. :)

I’m only still over there bc of the other PDs who aren’t here yet. I’m on Threads and Mastodon too but never post - they’re mid. Threads has the biggest community, Bluesky has the best site, people seem to be spread out but slowly converging here
