Jesus. I didn't realize that the Texas pardon board waived its own requirements in order to give Abbott his pardon of Daniel Perry. Also, if there is another example of a Texas governor pardoning someone for murder, I haven't been able to find it.

Back in lynching days, Texas could count on juries to acquit murderers.
