I just recently learned that the whole student loan bullshit started under Reagan. He's *second* on the Time Machine Hit List, after John Calvin. put them all in the TARDIS I am Jack's total lack of surprise. My husband and I were in college then. He worked part-time and managed to cover his tuition, books, and living costs. Graduated with no debt. also Pell Grants were much more widely available! I think my girlfriend had some.
