Seems this isn't working for everyone. But I think people are having better luck enabling this on desktop first. Doing it that way transferred over for me on iPhone.
I get how it works from the filter side - but as a creator, how can you mark your work to apply to these filters? And are you obliged to rate your work/posts? Still trying to find my way around here (like some being able to post emojis, I can't even copypaste them.) Learning curve. ^^;
You can't. And the algorithm doesn't catch everything, especially drawn artwork and furry stuff.
As a result, I can't open BSKY in public because it doesn't understand dragon dick and the artist can't mark it as explicit.
You are a little late to the party - this post was from the days when you had no way, technically, to mark content yourself. They have implemented the option meanwhile. The little shield with the ! in it didn't exist back then, in the old wilderness days of Early Bluesky xD
I was having the same doubt, but it seems to be automatically detected given what you post? I can't find any place where you can apply filters to your own content. Trying not to post NSFW until I am sure though.
I'll post "RSFW". Reasonably safe for work, depending where you work at. This means the Pope should probably not.. ya know.. then again, who am I to tell the Pope what to look at? Knock yourself out on furry smut all you want, Francis! xD
Click the shield icon besides the post button and it'll bring up a list of reasons to censor images, like gore, suggestive/explicit images, or artistic nudity.
From what I can tell, Bluesky mods just delete uncensored posts.
Reminder: Setting it to warn will also show you that the posts exist, just allows for work place bluesky-ing!
They will just have a blurry filter over until you tap it!
do we know how to apply/edits these filters as a creator? one of my posts is being marked as sexually explicit because it's a shirtless (male) mermaid :)
You can't. The algorithm has to do that.
It's also why even with mature content turned off, a bunch still gets through. Bsky doesn't want us to moderate our own content, they have to do it for us.
Well, you can set an “adult content” mark on your post as long as it has media in it. Just tab the symbol I circled in here while you’re creating your post.
It allowed me to go onto the online platform and change it but it won’t update my settings in the app, does anyone know what I might be doing wrong, or a workaround for it?
