One of my favorite definitions of leadership is "stepping forward to do the thing that needs doing which nobody else seems willing or able to do." It's really simple but incredibly effective.
Is there something that would help people around you but nobody is doing it? Can you do it? Are you?
A lot of people see a need or think of something nobody else realized was the linchpin...and then they do nothing with it. This is not an era to withhold your capacity to improve the world. It's really time to stop thinking about the thing you can change, and to just materially fuckin change it.
Thank you for saying this. I'm trying to be that person. It's hard when you're alone, or lacking support/external validation that what you're doing is valuable.
Thank you for doing something. I can almost guarantee you that your area has other people you can be working with. Granted they're not always easy to find.
