This is a really positive sign. Some members of Congress (e.g., Cori Bush) have called for Alito to resign. Here, Jamie Raskin argues that Congress can use statutory law regarding judicial impartiality to compel recusal. I think congressional Dems are beginning to take the MAGA Court seriously.
One of the things that frightens me most is the Dems' reluctance to get serious about Republican bad behavior within the bounds of institutions. I think they see it as not escalating, but the general public only sees the rot of elite indifference to elite crime. It undermines patriotism.
How do we/can we/do we need to/is it useful to get around the bad optics of "the Democrats want to ignore the constitution, so they're getting rid of the justices who won't let them"?
