If they're DIGing the case, there wouldn't be any detail.

Yep, the order would just say that the case is "dismissed as improvidently granted" with no reasoning by the majority (maybe a dissent or four though?)

In the interest of educating the public about the Court’s processes, I’ve supplied the deficiency
Unfortunately, the Court doesn’t normally give reasons for dismissing a writ as improvidently granted. So I’ll supply the missing per curiam: “We were about to say ‘pro-life’ hospitals have a right to watch women die of miscarriages, but we just remembered it’s an election year”

will we even know how justices voted or will it be like approval/denial of cert?

not unless there's a dissent

Based on this screenshot, they are dismissing the case as improvidently granted. That means we almost certainly won't get any opinions on it. Just an order that looks like this: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/22p... So, in some ways, we got all the detail.

Note that in the past when justices have dissented from DIGs, they also haven't issued full opinions. In this case, Sotomayor dissented from the DIG: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21p... Though I haven't done a fully canvass of all DIGs, so there may be cases where full dissents were filed.

And will Idaho respond by following Texas's "make sure to delay care until the emergency is seriously life-threatening" laws?
