Every time I see an AI revenue headline I'm staggered by how small the numbers are. *OPENAI ANNUALIZED REVENUE ~$1B FROM MODEL ACCESS: INFORMATION

It’s so weird that this is both the “future of work” and few people are willing to pay for it. It almost like it might be a cool demo with only a few niche uses. Reminds me of how IBM’s Watson was all over the press for 6 months for winning Jeopardy and then never found much business.

And they’re just selling access to these services to gullible execs riding the hype train. They’re not driving revenue through the use of these services directly (apparently).

That’s an interesting take. Two thoughts: First $1 billion is not a small sum. There are many, many businesses that would kill for $1B. Second, it’s infrastructure. ChatGPT as most know it, is the entry - user trial and marketing. If they get to $2B the path is through ISV embedding.

Sorry but respectfully, $1bn is a tiny sum, I don't care who would kill for it. NVDA market cap is $2.2trn, OpenAI was valued at $80bn back in February.

No need to apologize - people can have different opinions. NVDA is public - cap is calcd differently than privates. Their cap includes *all* AI companies and use across the industry as well as their other LOBs. Not a fair comparison.
