Twice in the past month I have been asked to do an interview for the New York Times. Citing their hard right turn, I declined both.
Everything I have seen from that paper in the past month has only bolstered my confidence in those decisions.
Don’t we need thoughtful left-leaning people to enter into “right” ward spaces? I feel like being a source and being a customer involve different considerations.
Both interviews were about science and not politics, so my voice would not sway anyone in that way. But it would add credibility to a paper which, recently, has become increasingly supportive of fascism.
