Anyway shout out to the person in the replies to the OP who for some reason thought their extensive experience with domesticated animals was in any way relevant to how you should approach a bear (fyi the actual correct way to approach a bear as a non-expert is you don’t fucking approach the bear)
So…are bears, uh, supposed to be this comfortable around people? I would not be okay with a bear being this close to me, especially not in my own backyard
