Goddamn. I mean, any increase in infant mortality is bad, but my God. And this is a state where the two largest metros have some of the best L&D and neonatal care in the country too.

Do they, though? I wonder how many have left to avoid being jailed for saving a mother’s life by aborting a fetus.

Based on my contacts down there, fewer than you’d expect. Texas Women’s and Texas Children’s are still considered premier internship and residency placements.
