My British friend said the chaotic immigration issues in England moved his country to the right. Is that the same with France? I have no idea. Asking.

It's a global right-wing power grab, and any excuse will do.

It's a soup, the liberal centrists that got power have, unsurprisingly, done little with it except push austerity and back imperial nonsense so unsurprisingly it's easy for far right factions to push the 'look they don't care about you' narrative that always is a winner for them.

I'm British and don't think I'd agree with that to be honest. But it is a big right wing talking/exaggeration point here
