I've definitely put in a lot of hours in Elden Ring multiplayer, possibly almost as many as I've done solo. I just think the addition of allowing your summon sign to show up anywhere in the game that you've been is such a delightful game mode. It's like an endless challenge run to help random people
I honestly didn’t know that was how Summoning worked in Elden Ring. I briefly did some co-op with discord people but not random folks. I might need to try it now.
You get all kinds but if you use the small golden effigy, you’ll eventually get pulled in to someone’s game. You’re usually helping someone with a boss, but sometimes you’ll go through a whole level. Watch out for enemy invaders. There’s also an etiquette some people follow but it’s not required.
Etiquette only really comes up if you end up getting summoned to someone who is hosting one on one duels, then there is a loose etiquette about whether or not duelists should heal or when the fight should start. But proper duels are rare right now as people play the main game and dlc again.

Reminds me of playing Dark Souls 3 where everyone made little dueling arenas and lined up for brackets, lol.
I might try activating some stakes to help some folks out. I wanted some extra souls to try out some of the DLC weapons, seems better than grinding.
