Stuff like this is also fairly common. Reusing sprites in the background, but reworking them heavily to blend in and fit the bg style. (This is from MS2, boss 5 and then stage 6 bg details)
OK, I think the score just overflows something fierce at 32k, looks I got 6 digits at least here. every now and then it just goes BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and I get a fuckton of nukes.
Two old pixel pieces I still like quite a bit.
The one with the dude and green crystal is using Atari ST specs, meaning 320x200 with 16 colours out of a possible 512.

Some more skull stuff. This time from an as of yet unfinished Quake texture set I started quite a while ago (on the back burner). Some of these are still pretty WIP, esp the last 2 in the 3rd image.

EGA appreciation! 1st pic (25 characters) is the first face sheet like this I ever made back in 2007, using the EGA palette. 2nd pic I started a while ago and is still WIP, I wanted to see what I could do with EGA now, using different approaches. Hope to finish it soon.

Bunch of my C64 pixel pieces that are among my personal faves (all are relatively recent.) The 2nd one was a collab with my friend, iLKke.
The 2nd one also uses sprite overlay to get an additional global colour, and the last one uses rasters to get colours into the border.

Some older slight NSFW work that I still like. The digital painting one is quite old, the digital sketch a few years and the two C64 #pixelart pieces are pretty old by now too.
My first art post! Whee. I have done face sheets like this for quite a while, and these are the four I like most, in chronological order.
MSX Robots, iLLke Pal Faces, 4 bit faces (aka 16 colour faces), NES Heads
