Yeah, I have not uploaded any art to twitter for quite a while (not super active here yet either) But I think on a whole Twitter is pretty dead for art. It's just shitposters, right wing shitm and bots for the most part it seems.

Looking at your art frequently gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Don't give up. I have lost work due to shit as dumb as saving over a file when it was scaled down so I lost the OG res, & it was for print so I had to do it again. From my personal experience, when you do something you already did a 2nd time it goes faster and comes out better usually. You got this
Avatar
Yeah, totally know where you are coming from. I got old drawings from my childhood, but stuff I made when I was like 12-15 on my Amiga 500, while probably still somewhere on a disk in the cellar, I have not checked on at all.

Have you ever tried to get in touch with some demosceners? They usually are the kinda guys who are good with old formats and have the old hardware to read it out.
Avatar
I mean, yeah, that happens with backwards compatibility not always being an easy thing to do when hardware moves foreward. This is why Emulation/Virtualisation of old hardware is so important, imo.

:dons librarian hat: Digital preservation is more expensive than preserving paper; it takes more staff, active attention, and consistent computing resources. Libraries have discussed “digital dark age” since the 1990s. Corp archives often 1st to go b/c suits haven’t figured out how to profit.
One of the interesting things about the Internet is that we’re actually living through a dark age. Future historians are unlikely to have records of this period. Paper and ink last. Digital storage, less so. variety.com/2024/tv/news...

Avatar
Indeed. I feel this goes for a lot of digital content, games as well. There are a lot of older arcade games which have not been preserved yet, as in dumped to roms & if it does not happen they might be lost forever, w/ sourcecodes already gone. Capitalism does not care about preservation. No profit.

Any% speedrun towards making the world uninhabitable for short term gains built on promises that can't be fulfilled anyway. Good shit. Gotta love it.

I deleted my Instagram, and you should too.
Saw this come up on FB and wtf 🤬 Adobe and Meta just being absolute dipsticks
Avatar
Never had Insta. This is p cursed. You can use something like Irfanview to resafe a jpg again and make it remove the exif data, which will have the Photoshop version stored in it, which is the only way Insta would know where it came from.

looks like it's about to score a mean three pointer.

I love how befuddled Batou looks in the coloured one.

Tbh, they are all really cute, hard to decide. If pushed I would say 3 or 8, that's as far as I can narrow it down. :D
Avatar
That actually looks like it would make it potentially decently interesting.

just watched a youtube video. Does not look too complex either. Since you always have normal rows (have to have, really) in order to give you hints on how to solve the doubles or straight up solve them.
Avatar
What's that? Just really big ones?

So I guess that ticks the meditative box for you then. I know there are variants, and I have played puzzle games that have picross elements to them, but required more advanced logic. What would you say is the most tricky picross game you played?
Avatar
Wow, very slightly difficult picross exists. I did not even know. For real tho, I never got the appeal of picross. I guess some people find it meditative? The only good picross adjacent game I ever played is Guru Logi Champ. Just my 2 cents :B

Hello, #screenshotsaturday! This is what Toronto's Union Station looked like in the early 1900s, in lovely EGA 🚂! You'll see it in The Crimson Diamond, my Sierra-inspired cozy mystery adventure game -- ⭐️Coming soon!⭐️ store.steampowered.com/app/1098770/...

Clearly the solution is to pickle them instead.

Lol, rejecting a palette that is basically just the full 64 colour EGA 6 bit palette is fucking hilarious to me. Just no, this palette is useless, 100s of games have been made with a 16 colour subset of it. so funny
