Yikes. Bad news for journalists, who used to be able to tell — at a glance — what a recently changed or deleted webpage looked like. This will make it much easier for bad guys to memory hole inconvenient facts online.

It is probably a response to a particular search poisoning attack occurring recently where someone steals a site’s content, altering it slightly, and sets up thousands of domain names pointing at the stolen content.
