They guess me based on Potatobug and they get close on Kitty Corner

Apparently saying kitty corner is a very Tacoma thing.

i re-took it and with slightly different questions it got much closer but no idea where irving and the red in Missouri are coming from

Sounds like you and I grew up in similar places. I think it's probably right. At least for the FL locations.

Florida is probably really messed up because it’s got so many people who aren’t from Florida

i always say my accent is 33% northern, 33% southern, 33% midwestern with the 1% remainder probably some weird yiddish and cuban tossed in
Avatar
People actually think I have a southern accent sometimes. And I think it’s just because I’m so alone. And I watched a lot of really old movies which have transatlantic accents
Avatar
Which is not a southern accent at all lol But it is me overly pronouncing words
Avatar
FL is messed up because the further south you go the more "northern" it becomes.
Avatar
And look how NOT southern I am. XD
Avatar
Oh man I wonder where I'm from If only they had cities in Maine labeled
Avatar
It was "rotary" and "Italian" that gave me away
Avatar
Wow you just talk like nowhere else.

the red places on the heat map don’t necessarily indicate that you sound distinctly from-there, it could also indicate that the two regions have similar accents to each other (for migration reasons, sometimes just coincidence reasons)

it’ll be a cold day in hell before i recognize the state of missouruh

One thing that wasn’t present was the fact that I called classes that are high school level in college, bonehead classes.
Avatar
There are some articles which use the word bonehead classes in the 70s. But I’ve never seen it outside of those articles and from my dad’s mouth lol and myself
