The Texas GOP's convention was a three-day call for spiritual warfare against "demonic" forces that Republicans are certain are coming for kids and churches. Those fears were the pretext for a litany of moves that'd give them unprecedented power over elections and to pressure judges. My latest:
At Texas GOP convention, Republicans call for spiritual warfarewww.texastribune.org At the three-day convention, delegates moved the needle further to the right, preaching Christian nationalism and approving rules that would give them unprecedented control of elections.

A telling detail:
Trans panic is so strong among Texas Republicans that, last week, convention delegates pushed for language that would bar them from ever ... leading the Republican Party of Texas. www.texastribune.org/2024/05/28/t...

Have been listening to Tim Alberta’s book about Evangelicals and their march towards extremism…really eye opening…their move towards Christian Nationalism and right wing politics. Nothing Christian or Jesus like about the way they’re behaving these days. It’s all about power.
