She is much missed. And hi! Decades since we talked about her.
Kathy Acker was a writer, a performer, a punk, a body builder, and gone much too soon. Books like BLOOD AND GUTS IN HIGH SCHOOL and EMPIRE OF THE SENSELESS are essential reading. And she turned me on to Cormac McCarthy. I miss her all the time. Happy birthday, Kathy.

Unusually a poem that's a review of Lauren John Joseph's AT CERTAIN POINTS WE TOUCH.

Saw 52 Monologues For Young Trans Women at the Soho Theatre. Wonderful poignant ruthless total theatre by two women so brilliant it hurts. They made me feel old and that trans art will be in safe hands. Go see it.

Important to protest the Arts Council's censorship proposals now because Labour cannot be trusted on this. Some of us have the seeds of a protest group under way.

I absolutely endorse this...
Want a gay, traumatised, spooky time? Want to grapple with the fact that even if they're still alive, the parents who raised you no longer exist? Want to be hit even harder if either/both are dead? Go and See 'All of Us Strangers.' @rozkaveney.bsky.social and I cried buckets.

It would be really nice if 1. People finally got round to reading my now complete RHAPSODY OF BLOOD sequence and 2. Nominate it for the Series Hugo. Short of my finishing something else in my old age, it's probably my only crack at another award.

Despite having appointed the chair (twice), director-general and very senior ('shadowy') board director of the BBC, the government is still so unhappy with its output that the culture secretary is forced to intervene again

A new interview about RHAPSODY OF BLOOD. I do hope more of you get round to reading the books and talking about them. bleedingcool.com/tv/rhapsody-...

I've read the whole book. It's very good.
by the by, the kelly link masterpiece novel (no, I'm not done, I'm just very certain) is definitely a christmas-season book (despite its february pub date) so if you, like me, decide that you'll most certainly need to reread it, we should all do that next december
