a small thought (I don't post a lot of Content on my patreon, but I do occasionally have small thoughts! I've also been archiving some of my once-published-but-no-longer-available short stories from long-defunct magazines, working forwards from the beginning) www.patreon.com/posts/around...

This delicious little bit of schadenfreude can be ours too if we work our asses off between now and November to bury Donald Trump and his fascist political party

The far right stochastic network is starting to push its followers into participatory events that are crimes. We are starting to see the game plan for the rights attempt to disrupt the election nationwide not just the process to make it law. This has the hallmark beginning of something really dark.
Here we see a right wing Twitter account with 1.3 million followers being retweeted by an account with 2.5 million followers calling for conservatives to sabotage the upcoming American election. Musk, BTW, has interacted amicably with these accounts several times.

Lot of questions about why Macron called snap elections. One clear factor: By ordering speed campaign, he expected Left could not unite, & so they'd be knocked out in Round 1, helping his own party. Instead, Left united within days—& now surged to win biggest bloc in Assembly.

Our most personable chicken is broody right now which means every time we remove her from the nesting box & take her out to free range, she rushes over to the nearest patch of flowers my mom has planted & viciously attempts to shred them with her feet.

I’m a liberal but feel the same. Bernie and the Squad were the best thing to happen to Dem politics in decades. I’d much rather have the Dem leadership looking to them than trying to tack center to Manchin or whoever.

Not having a reading party like over at Y'all of Cthulhu's place, but I started Dorothy B. Hughes' *Ride the Pink Horse* the other day. Love it!

A band that everyone agrees sucked shit play one gig in Manchester - everyone who attends goes on to form their own band, shaping UK music for decades. Their artist is the nephew of the founder of the druidic order. You're telling me that this is all "a coincidence"? and that "this is a Wendy's"?

Please note the wildly incorrect polling in France. No matter what the cacophony of pundits keep saying, polls are not predictive, and are never the end of the story. Organizing, volunteering, engaging in conversation, and direct action are effective tools. Let's use them here too.
BREAKING NEWS: Voters turned out in numbers not seen in decades to stop the far-right National Rally from taking power in the French National Assembly. Polls predicted a first-place finish for National Rally, which instead came in third in initial results as polling stations closed.

A hill I will die on: all white-collar crimes are violent crimes. It's just that the violence is removed from the perpetrator because the perpetrator is wealthy.
Holy. Shit. They're literally saying Trump's felonies aren't that bad compared to the "real felonies". Bear in mind, they're ignoring J6 and "gimme 12000 votes" call and the stolen docs. We joke, but this is literally Newsmax copy.

In France, the left coalition comes in first, Macron second, the far-right third. The best way to defeat fascism is not centrism, it’s a strong left.

Our household made a decision to have a 45 minute reading party every night after dinner—has to be a book we haven't read, has to be for pleasure. We just sit in the same room & read. My mom comes over & the dog jumps up to sleep next to her. It's now the part of the day I most look forward to.

What's weird is how much coverage there was of the surging right and a collapsing center and but no attendant deep coverage of the left? Not even to explain why news orgs seemed to be ignoring it other than stories accusing antisemitism b/v of opposition to Israel policy. So frustrating.
