Excellent long, long thread. Basically, claims of a lab-leak origin for COVID-19 have not been supported by evidence, and it's been that way for several years. In the meantime, exhaustive work and peer-reviewed evidence all point toward a natural origin and the Huanan animal market as ground zero.
Further, while the "lab leak" idea itself is not a "conspiracy theory" - and, I'm sure, the vast majority of people who believe it not "conspiracy theorists" - much of the discourse, including the article in @nytimes.com, is steeped in conspiratorial beliefs and pseudoscience. It's time to move on.

The people who claim that it was a lab leak or a Chinese Bioweapon seems surprisingly aligned with the people who say it was a common cold, gone by Easter, total nothing burger, send the kids back to school without masks when a vaccine will be ready in 3 months, don't get the vax either.
