On a serious note, Jews have a concept "Minhag HaMakom" which means "the custom of the place," and one is supposed to follow Minhag HaMakom to keep peace in our lives Note: it only applies to customs (like taking shoes off) and not to laws (ie. a custom cannot be used to justify horrible acts)

Also "your shoes are dirtier than the floors inside" is 100% obvious to anyone who has literally been outside what on earth does this person live in a sty

This 100%. Have they even been in a public restroom or are their floors just naturally worse than that??

“Be a courteous guest” is great life advice. Would much rather see that posted in schools than the Ten Commandments.
