I'm not the biggest sports fan at all, but I have to say I got excited watching Puerto Rico beat Lithuania tonight to qualify for the Olympics. Props to Lithuania for a great game. Proud of my boys!

My wife had never seen "Romancing the Stone". I remedied that tonight and she loved it. I haven't seen it in ages, but it still holds up for me. Me and my sis had it on vhs when we were kids and watched the absolute hell out of it. I still remember the musical beats & the best one liners, of course.

Rereading Gavriel Quiroga's Hell Night, and I'm getting that urge to run some Hell Night at Gencon for my friends, but we already have a list of games on the table, no more space! Maybe someday!

I've been about to write a long ass thread regarding my thoughts & feelings about 4th of July. Deleted it each time. So, I'll just keep it very brief. We don't celebrate 4th of July in my household.

Playing the Night Springs episodes of Alan Wake 2 in an effort to insulate my mental health from the madness going on. Episode 1, Number 1 Fan, made me laugh out loud multiple times. Brilliant fun. Funny I'm using an episode dripping with delusion to guard my own mental health haha

In less depressing news, finally finished Alan Wake 2. What a brilliant, metamindfuck masterpiece in storytelling. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Now to play the newly released Night Springs side chapters. Maybe eventually I'll work to get that second ending.

Nothing has made me feel more like my law degree is worthless than these last two weeks of SCOTUS rulings. At this point, I feel like all I got from law school was loan debt and existential dread. Understanding the minutiae and the repercussions through a JD lens just makes it worse.

Hurricane Beryl took at least 6 lives in its passing through the Lesser Antilles, including some in the north Venezuelan coast. The number is low, but being from PR, I expect that number to be sadly underreported. It's heading towards Jamaica as a cat 4. Stay safe, my Jamaican friends!

We got lucky and just got the edges of the beast.

Rain, wind & large waves on the east & south coasts, some on the west. Sometimes rain & wind in other areas, including the north of the island. Right now in Cupey it's gray skies but no rain, did get some earlier. Dodged a bullet, for now. Potential damage to coastal areas so far but not horrible.

And now it's a cat 5. Scary shit.

From tropical storm to categore 3 in a day. Probably by tomorrow it will be a category 4. Starting historically early this year due to warmer waters. Only the first of probably many that happen this year.
