I’m amazed that any cis person could be on a website filled with trans women who are constantly fundraising for housing and medical care and who are continually discussing ways to safely travel and get medicine and then think “clearly the mainstream journalist is the most disadvantaged person here”

CIS PEOPLE: please understand that when trans women point point the very deliberate usage of "this person" when you are mad at us, This Is Why. we see it, we notice it, and you are not slick. refusing to gender us the moment you are upset at us is transphobia plain and simple

see it's funny because that's not entirely off the mark, but here it's flipped. when it comes to cis women, the word 'woman' is said with disdain in a way that denies personhood, whereas for trans women it's a transphobic denial of womanhood where 'person' is said with disdain.

The idea that being blocked is an aggressive act or "social violence" or whatever is maybe the single most ridiculous thing about social media I block all the time. Vibes are bad? One too many posts about kinks I really don't wanna see? It's literally just a curation tool for your account.

this is just my personal opinion and you may disagree with me. but i would also be cautious about ascribing too much meaning behind being blocked by someone with a lot of followers who gets a lot of replies all the time. or being blocked by anyone at all!

transitioning is a choice in the same way that eating food is a choice. like yeah you can technically speaking not do it. its definitely something you are hypothetically able to not do. you might even be in an environment without food, and be *unable* to do it. trouble is, you eventually die

i transitioned because i was starving and it was the only thing that'd feed me. that was a choice. in fact, it continues to be a choice, and i make it everyday, in the same way that i choose to eat everyday. it's the choice of life, even if some people would rather i die than make it

so if youre cis and you see something talk about trans people "choosing" transition, i'd like you to remember this. this is the kind of choice it is. one you have to make or starve
