It’s so cool that cities are like “pweeease only turn your AC on if you’re actively dying and don’t go below 79 🥺🤘🏻💗” while the AI nobody asked for is slurping up the power grid to make 1 image of a girl with 5 tits

for years I've made fun of "conserve water! take short showers!" as California's response to endless drought, citizens taking the heat for hotels and agriculture using the VAST majority of what's left of our aquifer

there are FOUR golf courses in a 15 mile radius of me lol

I can name at least 10 within 15 miles of me and I hate golf, so there are probably more

I count 19 within ≈ 20km ( 12.4mi ) of me *IN FUCKING PHOENIX* and that’s not including North Scottsdale

I want a future without lawns that has climate appropriate permaculture instead 😑

Xeriscape in phoenix not only uses little to no water but it looks less ridiculous and doesn’t need to be replanted once a year like our summer/winter grass bullshit here but nah it’s all a sea of green in the desert And / nvm chip fabs and server farms

Yeah, I've seen some of that, it looks great. It for sure is less demanding from an energy consumption standpoint too.

Indeed and / of course on that front we have fuckloads of high heat capacity concrete making our city a heat island and a paucity of solar which should be covering every roof and carpark to provide energy and shade

I want a future without lawns for environmental reasons and also because it is Sunday morning in the suburbs and right now I can hear at least 4 lawn mowers/blowers.

Love the sound and smell of a ridiculously inefficient two-stroke engine putting I completely combusted oil and gas into the air in the morning ! On that note / also fuck those god damned loud af two-stroke mini bikes poisoning the air when I’m walking through my neighbourhood or a park

I live on West Race Your Loud Motorcycle Street😩

Right there with you. Mowing the lawn is my least favorite chore. Especially since I live under rule of an HOA which is super picky about lawn maintenance and presentation.
Avatar
I've always been a renter, and HOA tyranny seems like a good reason to keep being a renter
Avatar
Because it makes so much sense to build a golf course in that environment there should be many many golf courses!

Seriously when there is such a huge excess of something worthless like potable water it’s almost criminal not to dispose of vast quantities of it like this !
