We don’t talk enough about how Michael Corleone was a law-abiding war hero until he was radicalized by police brutality Excellent point. Was the anti immigrant sentiment switching from Irish to Italian in that time frame, or did it already move on? Not sure, but it was an Irish police captain who beat him And corruption! Michael just asked how much his father's enemy (The Turk) was bribing the police to be complicit in his father's murder. Whamo! He knew the police captain was corrupt beforehand but didn't care. He didn't want to make an issue of it until after the beating. To be fair, saying "corrupt police officer" is like "flying airplane". The adjective is inherent in the noun.
