Happy #primeweek! I just want to let y’all know that the Amazon shipping warehouse where my husband works is denying workers fans during a nationally recognized heat emergency and everything you order during time week places workers’ lives at risk.
If I had one I'd cancel it! Only we've been boycotting Amazon since they started putting local bookstores out of business (appx. 20 yrs.) Tell your husband to take care. That's worse than FedEx, where at least we had fans. (I took early retirement because I truly feared that job would kill me.)
There’s a FedEx facility right near Amazon, and the way those drivers speed it’s clear that they’re living in a state of constant fear, rage, and suffering. I once went to pick up my husband and one had driven off the road, over a hydrant, and thru a strong fence + ~200 feet bc speeding so badly.
Yes! Our drivers were contractors, not employees. They were given impossible amounts of packages, and the system was set up to blame everything that went wrong on them. (That's why I quit; I got "promoted" to check their trucks. Most were good and worked hard, and many were bound to fail anyway.)
I have not even made an order at Amazon since 2017 (let alone have a subscription) but if I did I would cancel!
