Me: my honest opinion is that if you make the revisions I’m suggesting, it will do better in peer review
thinking about writing a manifesto about why sparing use of quotations in body text is an objective good in scholarly writing. said manifesto would,
ironically, contain quotations from various nonfiction writing sages to support my views on the matter
and if I write it, maybe I’d share it with any prospective new client: “please read this 2-page document. if you feel this is an approach you can embrace, let’s continue talking. if not, I’m not the editor for you.”
