Nearly got into a heated argument with a pal about the orange 1970s Tupperware’s I always buy at antique shops. “Just find them on eBay” “Listen here you ungrateful pig:” “Why don’t you just marry the computer” etc

That’s great! Because ultimately it’s more hours on the project with back and forth whatnot. Sometimes I prefer that to be honest, but as always it depends on the editor haha afraid to say I’ve had more than a few “I don’t like blue” types 😂

In my experience the more an illustration job pays, the more people have their hands on it. Sometimes for the better sometimes it just makes a design by committee Frankenstein of a few good ideas into one dull one. Cheap work usually let you do whatever, whether that’s good is up to you 🤷🏻‍♂️

Over on the 2000ad message board there’s a thread about why some art is better than others based on the assumption that it comes down to how much you get paid, and man - just using the data point of my own career - I wish it were as simple as that.
