Work crowded out pretty much everything else in my Dad's life. I think RW media – particularly talk radio – provided him a sense of connection and camaraderie he didn't get anywhere else. That feeling of belonging was the gateway drug for the reactionary political ideology that came to eat his brain

It's so weird that Wakko Warner did an entire song about the countries of this planet, which included almost every country in Africa, and yet somehow they don't act like they missed it D:

I'm very much guilty of doing this and I hate doing it, so now I'm gonna try to use this as a catalyst to improve myself and avoid double-booking or making people feel utterly unimportant when I consider them to be a good friend

I've spent the last three days getting cancelled on by people who double booked (and I was plan b), or only had time to "pencil you in", or not hearing from people who said "I'll call you in a few hours" and I am 49 fucking years old this weekend I think I need to value my own time more than this.

One of the best examples of how people see male as default is watching playthroughs of Outer Wilds. The species you play as use they/them pronouns for everyone. But almost all let's players use "he" for them despite never being given good reason to.

I've seen this a lot when playing Among Us; a vast majority of players will just assume that other players are male, unless you're the pink crewmate then you're female (thank you Power Rangers for this >.>)

I was just thinking this earlier. The blocklists are all gone, and people have stopped blocking the bigots themselves, and just gone back to replying to them instead, putting them onto their followers’ skylines.

Transphobes were always there, we just had ways to stop ourselves from seeing them and interacting with them and now we don't have a big labeller so we're seeing them and interacting with them and they're getting more traction just like they did on twitter, I don't think it's that surprising!
