I get the wish Biden that would pull some kind of one weird trick ju jitsu but the whole point is that this decision enables crimes, so doing a clever reversal would involve *him* doing crimes, which would somewhat undermine the point that we have to elect him so the other guy can’t do crimes.
I keep seeing people lament how he’s not using these great new powers SCOTUS has granted him, and I get it. It would be emotionally satisfying and also very funny! But it would also definitionally mean he’s doing crimes! I do not want any president to do crimes.
Please note I’m not talking about “wouldn’t it be funny if” hypotheticals, to make a point. I just mean the people who seem genuinely annoyed that he’s not announcing a crime spree as a super clever gambit that would definitely not backfire in any way.
