Exception maybe being Gandalf's "do what you have to do with the time you're given" speech, which is a bit different and moved to an entirely different point in the story, but McKellan is so good it makes you unashamedly weep. And by "you" I mean "me."
something i think jackson and the writers were really good at is shuffling dialogue around to maintain the feel of tolkien gollum singing the barrow wights song, giving treebeard bombadil quotes etc
Moving the “the walls of her bower” speech from Gandalf to Grima, speaking TO Eowyn, was my favorite one of these. I gasped the first time I saw it. Hair raising.
And I mean I get it. The first movie of a trilogy needs a different dramatic structure than a very long novel does. Gandalf needs a big speech at that moment when he's about to [DECADES OLD SPOILERS REDACTED]
