I maintain that Trump would never have become a viable candidate in 2015 if the national media hadn't treated him like a viable candidate. We have *so much* research on the ways media narratives make or break candidates.

Yes! In 2016, the press uniformly created false equivalencies btwn Clinton & Trump. Case in point: Numerous articles about allegations against both the “Trump Foundation” & the Clinton Foundation compared the two as if Trump’s was a legit foundation.

Also, on the reasons they make the choices they do -- the incentive structures and more deeply embedded narrative frameworks that favor some journalistic approaches over others.

This may even still be the case in 2020 and 2024 . . .
