Reader in my writing group pointed out I use 'but' frequently. Did a search, and—OMG! Spent yesterday minimizing that weasel word. Made the mistake of searching for 'and'. ('That' is another.) So no new words, but tighter text. #Editing
Oh yeah, this is a huge one. My writing group told me about the word frequency feature in scrivener, and I'm ashamed to admit how many times 'before' cropped up...
