Hi all. We wanted to share an update with you. Sorry this is slightly late. Yesterday there was a paper uploaded that showed a new attack against Glaze. The researchers shared their paper with us before releasing it, giving us a chance to read about their results. Let us share some results.

Hi all! A few news items: 1. WebGlaze is now updated to Glaze 2.0 2. We are hiring a student to handle webglaze account requests. We will work thru the backlog of weeks of requests. Thanks for your patience 3. Glaze is NOT open source. There is a fake Glaze project on github. They're not us.

For artists w/ NVidia GTX1660/1650/1550 GPUs. We have not fixed PyTorch, but we have a simple workaround to disable the GPU when running Glaze/nightshade. Download appropriate .bat file, put it into your glaze/nightshade directory, run it instead of the exe file. Links below...

Hey all. Here to give an update on the user study many of you wonderful artists helped us with. Here is the paper that came out of that study, evaluating the ability of current tools (Hive, Optic, Illuminarty), research tools, and humans (non-artists, artists, experts) at identifying AI-images.

Today is the day. Nightshade v1.0 is ready. Performance tuning is done, UI fixes are done. You can download Nightshade v1.0 from nightshade.cs.uchicago.edu Please read the what-is page and also the User's Guide on how to run Nightshade. It is a bit more involved than Glaze

Hi all. Thank you to all who participated in our artist survey on detecting genAI images. Less than 15 hours after release, we already had 4000+ responses. So we closed it to reduce risk of scraping for the human art in our test images. If you want to see your results, you can fetch them at this url

Hi all! Nightshade tests continue. We would also like to ask for artists' help on a new research study that evaluates the ability of artists and software tools to reliably separate generative AI images and art by human artists. Please help us on a survey: uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

By now, I'm guessing most have already seen the news on our new project, Nightshade. Lots of artists sharing it, but here's the article from MIT Technology Review (tyvm to the wonderful Melissa Heikkila). This is a thread explaining Nightshade & its goals www.technologyreview.com/2023/10/23/1...
This new data poisoning tool lets artists fight back against generative AIwww.technologyreview.com The tool, called Nightshade, messes up training data in ways that could cause serious damage to image-generating AI models.

to the people over at @theglazeproject.bsky.social may you have happy days and peaceful nights because running glaze from my 3080 literally turns the process from half an hour to thirty seconds. actual wizardry (pictured: my real reaction glazing the art above)

Quiet little backend update on WebGlaze today. We upgraded the exif handling of glazed Images, to ensure that metadata fields like PhotoShop copyright fields are restored after glazing. As a side effect, now JPG files sent to WebGlaze are returned as JPGs (no longer as PNG files).

Hi all! First, post, I'll just note that we put up a new page explaining how to manage intensity values for glaze/webglaze so you get the sweet spot to achieve both strong protection and barely visible glaze effects. Detailed info: https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/intensity.html
