Old English 'hrof' meant both roof and ceiling Must be from your brain’s perspective. So I just have to…live the rest of my life with this question hanging over my head??? In portuguese it is the sky of your mouth Probably the same reason the inside of your skull isn’t called an attic. Because you only touch the bottom of your ceiling. If you could look at your head inside it'd be a ceiling.
