Spent last night in #Milan and enjoyed an incredible meal overlooking the #Duomo. Not a bad view all in all.

Taking a break from #writing to burn stuff. It’s the UK, sun’s out, so I’m kind of obligated to BBQ.

I’ve hit a solid 15k words on my new novel and reached a natural break point. So I’m pausing the #writing & instead editing - mostly to check it’s coherent & makes sense. And I’m #listening to Japanese #jazz, which is currently my favourite kind of jazz, while I do so. #vinyl #NowSpinning

I know, I know, two Sydney Sweeney movies in one week, but #Immaculate was so good. This is what #horror should be: smart, knowing, unsettling, & unflinchingly nasty where it needs to be. I don’t want to give more than necessary away, but let’s just say it delivers.

I finished this a few weeks ago & it’s stuck with me. You know the adage, “never judge a book by its cover”? Well, I picked this up on the strength of the cover (& what a cover btw) & so had no idea where it might go. Beautifully written, surprising, & with teeth. #reading #amreading

I’m #writing scenes of violence & #SonnyRollins is bringing a necessary & manic vibe. I love Rollins and I especially love live Rollins from this period - just as he’s coming off hard-bop & heading somewhere new. And this is the best #TonePoet imo. #vinyl #nowspinning #jazz #amwriting

I know, I know: I’m ridiculously late to this, but #Beef really is top draw. Blackly comic and admirably savage all the way through to that final scene. And Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are a class act.

I had the first edition of this, but it was destroyed in a flood (don’t ask). So I’m delighted that I’ve now got the 3rd edition in my hands, courtesy of a late birthday gift. I genuinely find this work endlessly fascinating. #readers #Shakespeare
