I’m seeing so many people in the US talking about ‘the long term’ when it comes to the SCOTUS ruling yesterday. Your ‘long term’ is roughly 5 months. That’s it. If you don’t actually change something by then, you’re out of time.

The time for ‘long term’ was decades ago, when the republicans started moving US politics inexorably to the right.
