1/ I met Donald Trump at Howard Stern's birthday party in 1994. The party was at the Plaza Hotel, which at the time was called the Trump Plaza. Donald Trump hosted the party. I was working for one of the bands that performed at the party. After the party, there was a receiving line to meet Trump.

2/ I noticed that Trump shook each person's hand, and seemed to say the same thing to each person, although I was out of earshot, and couldn't hear it. Nobody seemed that psyched after meeting Trump. When it got to me, I shook his hand, and he said:

3/ "Hi, I'm Donald Trump. I own this hotel. I paid for this party." That was it. He didn't want people to leave without knowing that he was so rich that he owned the hotel and paid for the party. He was so insecure that he had to tell everyone this himself. At Howard Stern's birthday party.

4/4 I found a friend who was also in the receiving line after we both shook Trump's hand. "That was kind of sad," my friend said. It seemed pathetic to both of us, incredibly petty and insecure. I always thought he was a loser after that. It's weird seeing a famous person be desperate and needy.
