PhD viva- Pass with minor corrections! This is good. 3 months to sort them, shouldn’t take that long, most of it is chapter one which I kind of knew about. Not a doctor yet but soon 🤞 My supervisor tells me it was a very thorough viva and has gifted me Prosecco. 🎓🍾

Apropos of *nothing*: Mark Sexton, one of the concept artists on Fury Road, takes on the vehicles and characters from Wacky races. Very much in the vein of what I'm slowwwly aiming for in 28mm.

Wins for Oppenheimer and Godzilla Minus One mean this is the first time a movie and its sequel both won Oscars the same year.

not a single word in this sentence prepares you for the next one
“A Democratic consultant who worked for [Dean Phillips’] presidential campaign paid a New Orleans magician to use artificial intelligence to impersonate President Joe Biden for a robocall that is now at the center of a multistate law enforcement investigation.”

So many problems on the other app could resolved with a "block all posts from blue ticks" button. You'd lose Carol Vorderman but she can come over here and everything else can be usefully set on fire.

Oh joy, another educational revolution, we haven’t even got T levels off the ground yet. Don’t get me wrong some version of the IBACC is a good idea IMO but this isn’t the (well understood) IBACC and will be poorly implemented and massively disruptive. Again.

Keep seeing think pieces about “a once great party” and “The mask has slipped”. They were never great. There was never a mask. They were always like this. Corrupt, venal, self serving, incompetent.

So. We are out of action on the gig front for a month or so due to studio (aka spare room) remodelling (aka sorting the heating) but we may have some VERY EXCITING NEWS about our upcoming EP.

Going through old cupboards. Part of my Dad’s stuff. Basically what to do if you’re on a ship and there’s a nuclear war. It amounts to “close the doors, keep hosing down the deck and try to get out the way of the fallout”. Hashtag 80snostalgia

Guess it’s time to revisit this post from the other place *checks watch* 7 weeks ago because in the meantime he has somehow contrived to make things worse

So, about this, the same guy had a youtube video called "Autopilot saves model S" where the autopilot had noticed a truck sideswiping him and got out the way. I guess that's why he overtrusted it. I only know this because someone in Oxford wrote an avant garde opera about it which I went to see.
