…huh. In an MtG Arena game, quite early on, my opponent casts a spell that causes each player to discard their hand and draw 7 cards from their opponent’s library. He draws the cards from my library, looks at them, and promptly concedes. At full health.
…honestly, I’m a trifle insulted.
I encountered someone recently whose deck was clearly nothing but those spells and lands, because I ended up with six lands and another such spell, tried casting it on my turn, and ended up with seven more lands.
I suspect the resulting irritated concession on my part was the entire point. 🙄
... gaaaah I need to get back to rebuilding. Need to win like 1 or 2 more to get a starter deck.
I will say that the.. number of formats now is a tetch confusing. I have some cards that I want to build a deck around and I have *NO IDEA* what formats they're for. XD
Alchemy is the digital-only format that can only be played in Arena because it uses some mechanics, like card summoning, that can only be done digitally.
Explorer I think is the hardest one to explain since it was created to roughly mirror a print format, except not all the print format cards have been released on arena
