i think it's impossible to watch The Meg 2. I don't think you can devote your whole attention to it. Your eyes slide around the characters like eggs on a non-stick pan. There's nothing to get purchase on in the whole movie The Meg 1 also sucks btw

i know this isn't a hot take i just think there's something so strange about the kind of chinese-american cross-market slop that's for no-one. it's uniquely unwatchable

this goes for “every ad shown around F1 content” too

A type of dialogue that does not feel like dialogue. Like people talking in the next room

I remember someone in front of my watched this movie in an airplane and I would look at the screen every now and then and even that was too much. Just feels like a fake movie

I fully forgot that I watched this movie, and as scenes from it slowly popped into my head while reading this, my reaction to each was "no, surely not."

I did appreciate how nakedly commercial it was. From, like, a sociology perspective

is Meg like those sharknado things where people went 'let's make a film that sucks, intentionally, as a bit' because I think that should be extremely illegal

no the meg/2 is a sincere adaptation of a book series that's run for like, decades or some shit. jason statham's there. it's got a crazy high budget but it's like they photocopied the chris pratt jurassic world movies

It’s very much a film that sucks as a bit, there’s a ‘Kraken’ and Statham kills a Megalodon by stabbing it with a giant helicopter propeller knife. If someone were to read more into that movie than what it shows on its face, sorry.

In The Meg Minus One though they go into Jason Statham's trauma from being a failed kamikaze pilot in World War 2 (he was still British, the RAF had to keep telling him that's not what they're into) and how he solves it by flying into a shark

I think it was interesting to learn you can survive without much protection on the bottom of the ocean.

I genuinely forgot I had seen it until I saw this post. Can’t conjure a single detail from it

At least the Meg 1 had some fun shots - I can remember that movie. I saw 2 like a month ago and couldn’t tell you anything about it

I honestly didn’t mind the 1st one if you take it for what it is. The 2nd is just plain terrible though. I didn’t even make it half way through.
