The director of Al shifa hospital has been released after 7 months of torture, during which he witnessed the torture and murder of many other medical staff. Netanyahu, Ben gvir, Benny Gantz and others are calling his release an outrage and he may be targeted for killing or re-kidnapping.
Head of Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital released after months of detentionwww.washingtonpost.com Pulled from a U.N. convoy, Mohamed Abu Salmiya’s detention bookended one of the most indelible chapters of Israel’s nine-month military operation in Gaza.

Two other prominent doctors (and many others who were less prominent!) have previously been murdered by torture in Israeli custody, one an orthopedic surgeon and the other an obstetrician. Remember when we were supposed to pretend the idea that Israel would target a hospital was a blood libel?

Remember that al shifa was the hospital where Israel said they would take care of the premature babies that couldn't be evacuated, and then murdered them by leaving them to dehydrate to death. Their remains were found when Israel was done using the hospital as a military base and left.
Infants found dead and decomposing in evacuated Gaza ICU. Here’s what we know | CNNwww.cnn.com The scene inside the Al-Nasr hospital ICU ward is chilling. The tiny bodies of babies, several still attached to wires and tubes that were meant to keep them alive, decomposing in their hospital beds....

It's only possible to be more concerned about the optics of what we call this moral outrage than the outrage itself if we accept that Israeli lives matter and Palestinian lives don't.

It was Al-Nasr hospital, a small hospital not far from Al-Shifaa. This was in November and attention was on Al-Shifaa, so the IDF just did whatever they wanted elsewhere counting on Palestinians not being believed. There’s likely been multiple more cases. The whole system is running out of fuel rn.

It's so hard to keep track of these atrocities!

Although tbf I barely skimmed the article I pulled up to check that I remembered right, and the correct info was right there below the title.

I think it’s been the Israeli strategy to try out an atrocity, test how far they can go (turns out no limits), then repeat over and over. People sometimes don’t even realize that it’s happening again. See how much worse the second attack on Al-Shifaa was in March and how much less attention it got.
