I'm doing YNAB and need to reward myself with a Steam Game. Feel free to inflict a suggestion.

Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, that's the actual title, is in my Steam queue and on the one hand I loved the first two main games and on the other hand there's so much brainspace I have freed by not having to try to understand Kingdom Hearts anymore.

The best description of "Slay the Princess" is "haunting." It haunts me. I'm pretty sure I got the best ending, but I still want to play it again to see if I can do better. I'm currently loving "Tavern Talk." It's like a warm blanket fresh fron the dryer for my soul. There's a free demo on Steam.

Slay the Princess is a ride. Abby Howard's art goes so hard.

I think it's too creepy for me tbh, I'll have to experience it vicariously.

My "creepy meter" is blown off because I'm a horror fan, so probably fair. It doesn't have the same kind of tension as a survival horror game, if that helps. It's more esoteric horror than jump scares and whatnot.

They don’t really know how to follow up Teenage Exocolonist, so they?

Did watch part of a Let's Play of Slay the Princess and stopped because it was interesting enough that I think I want to play it myself.

Hades II, and this is a technical term, owns bones. Starstruck Vagabond came out recently and is a pretty good time. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a Yakuza game, which is like a Kingdom Hearts game except uplifting and with more cartoony characters
Avatar
I'm avoiding Hades II until full release because I will play it into the ground once I start. Will look into Starstuck Vagabond
Avatar
I nolifed it to the end of current content and it took a pretty long time tbh, but I definitely get that

I loved Hades and I got better at it but I never truly Got Gud, just Gud Enough

actually - what's your take on retro-ish strategy RPGs?
Avatar
For all cRPGs if I can make it past the first 2 hours I can usually finish it but I have so little patience for the first two hours not being fun.

Also, Lisa the painful, if you haven't.

yeah, it's a good time

I have mixed feelings about the dude, but am glad the game is good!

Balatro. It’s a really fun and relaxing poker based roguelike. Music is solid too.

Helldivers 2 is incredible, The Riftbreaker is wonderful.

If you like rogue-likes, bullet hells, OSU, and/or Critically Acclaimed MMORPG FFXIV, I'd highly recommend Rabbit and Steel. If you like Bullet Heavens, 20 Minutes Till Dawn. If you like Slay the Spire, then Cobalt Core.

HiFi Rush is great. Helldivers 2 is also great, but is better with a friend or two. Scars Above looks great and is only $6 right now; it's next on my list to start.
Avatar
Scars above I knew nothing about but it feels like Tomb Raider in a good way when I watch the trailer
Avatar
Satisfactory if you don't have it already
Avatar
Have it, waiting for it to get to 1.0 so I can force my friends to play with me.
