Today, the federal government put itself on the right side of history by seeking, for the 1st time, to establish the precedent that every worker in America has the right to shade, water & rest while working in temps that could kill them. -UFW President Teresa Romero www.politico.com/news/2024/07...
Biden to announce heat rules as climate-related deaths risewww.politico.com If finalized, they would be the first U.S. regulations to protect workers from dangerous temperatures.

Nope, sorry, the Supreme Court will rule that the President can shoot people in the middle of 5th Avenue, but is barred from helping them.

I hope that if a court intervenes to stop this that Biden doesn't just shrug and say that's just the way it is.

Can’t wait for the courts to throw this out now that Chevron is rejected

I work outdoors, and had sun poisoning two weeks ago because I had to work 8 hr without a break when the city had a UV warning. I hydrated (as much as possible with bathroom breaks and wore sunscreen). Even when i collapsed the following day, I was first told to work thru a 100° fever in 98° heat.

That is horrible. Please be careful. It's definitely why these Federal rules are so critical.

That’s horrible! I’m so sorry. The worst heat stress I’ve ever seen was driving by a pair of pipe fitters working in 100+ degs. in an oil field. I still wonder about those guys… (I asked to stop, but was told it was unsafe. I wasn’t the boss).
